Formal "invite"

“Invite” on the Internet is an element of protection of access to resources, pages of social networks, blogs, etc., expressed in inviting new users to more experienced ones. It can be expressed in the answer to a security question, entering a certain code during registration, the number of which is limited. Also, an "invite" can be obtained by communicating with the owner of one or another Internet resource.

These invitations can be paid and free. In the first case, a network resource can have an extremely narrow circle of users, which everyone knows each other, and newcomers to it are not welcome (for example, this is the so-called "Lepra"). In this case, the "invite" may be paid. Its price is not regulated in any way and can be more than one hundred rubles (or even a thousand). Free "invites" are distributed when answering site questions, checking the user's competence on the subject of the resource, etc. Often, such "invites" are practiced by specialized sites, for example, for writing programs, metal processing, repairing automobiles, etc.

Informal "invite"

"Invite" can be both formal (expressed by codes, questions during registration, etc.) and informal. The latter is practiced on social networks and blogs, when access to certain groups and pages is regulated by those who created them. The rules about "invites" are not fixed anywhere, but the owner of the page can communicate (including personally) with those who want to have access to his materials.

Unauthorized "invite"

Sometimes attackers hack the algorithm for generating "invites" on various resources and upload generators to the network. Users who use such a generator and register on a closed site are unwanted. Therefore, most likely they will be deleted.

Fighting "invites"

Due to changes in the legislation of the Russian Federation and the introduction of the so-called anti-piracy law, many resources that required an "invite" for registration have now ceased to require it. This is due to the fear of the authorities that some of them may be exposed to copyright violations (in the case of using torrent trackers), distribution of unlicensed software, etc. Therefore, the practice of using "invites" is becoming less and less popular.
