Banner advertising is an integral attribute of the modern Internet, and if you have a website, it is very unlikely that sooner or later you will not have to worry about placing a banner on it. The procedure for installing a banner on a website is described below.

Step 1
If you install a banner of some other Internet resource on your site, then you most likely should have an html code that must be inserted into your pages. If this is a banner of your commercial partner, then, as a rule, details are placed in this code to identify and account for the traffic received from you. The same details are present in the code for installing banners for search engines, catalogs, counters, etc. To insert such a code into a page, first open it in some suitable editor. If you use a content management system to administer the site, then it has a built-in online page editor. After opening the desired page in such an editor, you need to switch it from visual mode to HTML-code editing mode. In the source code of the page, find the place that you think is the most suitable for the banner. If you already have the banner code - copy it, if the code is posted on the partner's website - take the code from there. Sometimes the code is sent by mail after registering with your partner, in other options you get access to the password-protected area of the partner site and take the code from there, in the third it is freely posted on the site and you need to add your registration number to the code yourself. In any case, copy this code and paste it into the location of the html source of the page you specified. Don't forget to save your changes after you finish editing the page.
Step 2
If you do not use control systems, you can download the required page through the file manager of your hosting company's control panel and edit it in a regular text editor. And in this case, you need to find a suitable place in the page and insert the html-code of the banner there. After saving the changes, upload the page back to the server using the same file manager. To move files between your computer and the server, you can also use any of the FTP client programs.
Step 3
Different partners have different rules regarding the placement of the banner file itself - some store it on their server, others require it to be placed on your server. In the second case, you need to upload a picture to yourself through the same file manager or FTP client. In this case, do not forget to make sure that the address you specified in the banner code inserted into the page matches where you actually placed the picture.
