It is through this service that many computer games are sold, released under the control of Valve itself and many other third-party developers and publishers. As a result, users who buy such software receive a digital copy of it with a license.
Non-Steam
Non-Steam is a kind of waiver of license and control. Some people working "for the good" of the community are hacking Steam versions of products sold in the store. Of course, this procedure is not the easiest, but if desired, the protection system can be bypassed.
As a result, it turns out that Steam is removed from the product, and it completely loses its license. In addition, it is not possible to run games on Steam that are not licensed (for example, those that were bought on the counter and do not have the corresponding designation). They cannot be linked to an account in this resource, which means that you cannot get everything that is provided by the developer of the user who purchased the licensed version of a particular product (for example, to play on the network).
With the help of the Non-Steam version (they can be found very easily on the Internet), the user gets almost all the same features, with only one "But". This is because, for example, in multiplayer mode, the owner of such a version of the product will be able to play only with those people who use the Non-Steam version (in addition, the Steam account may be blocked if such activity is detected).
Owners of licensed copies play on servers provided by the developers themselves and their accounts cannot be blocked. Other servers used by users of Non-Steam versions are regularly blocked, which means that the information stored on it is lost all the time.
