Facebook originally had a different name, namely Thefacebook, and its network was extended only to students at Harvard University. Further, a small social network at that time began to expand, providing an opportunity for registration to students of other universities. After that, Facebook became available to students of any educational institution in the United States. In 2006, all Internet users who are over 13 years old and have e-mail received the opportunity to use the network.

Note that in 2008 the social network Facebook launched the Russian version of the site. Now you can change the interface language yourself. Since then, the number of Internet users among the residents of Russia has been constantly growing. However, the popularity of the Russian site Facebook is one of the lowest in Europe due to the fierce competition of the site with other Russian social networks.

Please note that the social network Facebook, according to the majority of Russian users of such networks, has obvious shortcomings that prevent it from becoming sufficiently popular. Such disadvantages include a poorly thought-out and thus inconvenient interface, the principle of the friends' feed, a rather low speed of work. Go to Facebook. The main page of the site invites you to register on it or log in under your own name if you have already registered before. When you log in, the main window opens. A navigation menu is displayed on the left side of it, allowing you to move from one part of the network to another. In the center is the active part of the site, depending on which element you are interested in. On the main page in the central part there is a news feed of your friends, events, communities. On the far right side of the site, a list of all your friends is listed.

Click on the "Messages" icon on the left side of the menu. A list of conversations opens on the left, and in the center is the selected conversation, at the bottom of which there is a field for composing a message.

Click on the "Find Friends" button at the top of the window. If you have a certain number of friends on the network, then you will notice one remarkable functional feature of the site - the selection of friends through the existing ones. That is, the site allows you to replenish the list of your acquaintances, selecting them from the lists of your friends.
