Mirk or its original name mIRC works directly with the IRC protocol, which is the brother of ICQ. IRC is less widespread than the above protocol and instant messaging client. To start working with the mIRC program, you need to go through the account registration procedure.

Step 1
First of all, you need to install the IRC client itself. You can download it from the following link https://www.mirc.com/get.html. On the loaded page, click the big green button, select the "Save file" option and click OK. In the window that opens, select a folder to save the download and click the "Save" button.
Step 2
After installing the program, you need to configure it. To do this, in the main program window, click the top File menu and select the Select Server item, or press the alt="Image" + O key combination, and then click the Servers item.

In the window that opens, go to the IRC server field and select the All option. Select Quakenet from the list of servers presented. If this server does not exist, you will need to add it yourself. To do this, click the "Add" button and replace the empty fields with your own values. In the Description field, add Quakenet IRC, the server address is irc.quakenet.org, and the port number should be left the same (6669 or 6667). Click the Add button to complete the operation.
Step 4
Now sign up for an IRC account. For example, your future nickname in the system is InFakes. To make the reservation of the primary login, you must enter the following command: / nick InFakes. The primary login is used to enter the system, then you can use any free login.
Step 5
To get a personal login, you need to execute the following request: / msg q hello email_name @ your_e-mail_name_on_mail @ your_e-mail. Now substitute your primary login, and you will receive the following request: / msg q hello [email protected] [email protected]. After completing this operation, view your mailbox. On behalf of IRC, a letter should come with a link, as well as instructions for activating an account.
Step 6
To authorize in the network, you need to make the following request: / msg [email protected] AUTH your_login_in_system password (you should receive this data in an email). For automatic authentication, it is necessary to register the above line in the settings. Click the Options menu and select Connect. Then select the Options line again and click on Perform. Here, in an empty field, you must insert a query string and check the box Enable perform.
