Instructions
Step 1
Bring up the main system menu of the main computer by clicking the "Start" button and enter the value "Network" in the text box of the search bar. Specify the "View network connections" command and open the context menu of an existing Internet connection by right-clicking. Specify the "Properties" item and use the "Access" tab of the dialog box that opens. Select the checkboxes for "Allow other network users to use this computer's Internet connection" and "Allow other network users to control Internet connection sharing" and confirm your choice by clicking OK.
Step 2
Reopen the call to the properties dialog of the local area network connection on the client computer running Windows 7 and select the line of the component "Internet Protocol TCP / IP". Use the "Properties" button and apply the checkboxes in the "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" boxes. Confirm your choice by clicking OK (for Windows 7).
Step 3
Call the main menu of a client computer running Windows XP by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "Control Panel" node. Expand the "Network Connections" link and open the context menu of the "Local Area Connection" item by right-clicking. Specify the item "Properties" and select the line "Internet Protocol". Call a new dialog box by clicking the "Properties" button and apply the checkboxes in the "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" fields. Confirm your choice by clicking OK (for Windows XP).
Step 4
Check the connection status by clicking on the network connections shortcut in the tray and opening the network connections properties window. Determine the existing IP address and other connection parameters.
