Computer games using Shockwave Flash technology are in most cases free of charge. They do not require installation and run directly in your browser. Despite the lack of complex graphical effects, many of these games are very interesting and addicting.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that the computer you are going to play on is connected to the Internet at an unlimited rate. The SWF file in which the game program is located can be quite large, and every time you visit the page with the game, it is loaded again.
Step 2
Install the Adobe Flash Player plug-in on your computer. To do this, download it from the first link located at the end of the article. Your operating system will be detected by the browser automatically, and if this is not the case, select it manually by clicking on the link "Other operating system or browser". After downloading the file, close all browsers, and then on Linux, install the package using a package manager (for example, RPM), and on Windows by running the executable file and following the instructions of the installer.
Step 3
Launch the browser you are used to using again. To verify that the Flash Player has actually been installed, go to any site that has banner ads. Move the pointer over one of these banners and right-click. Instead of the context menu that appears when you right-click on an image (including an animated one), a shorter Flash Player menu should appear.
Step 4
Go to any site where Flash games are located. A link to one of them is already given at the end of the article, and you can find others by entering the search engine "flash games", "free flash games" or similar. On the site, first select a section by genre of games (for example, logic, arcade, sports), and then - the game itself.
Step 5
The way you control the hero or objects in the game can be different. So, in programs that are analogous to the classic games Braekout or Arcanoid, the paddle movement is most often carried out with the mouse, and in arcade games, the main character can be moved using the arrow keys. To make it shoot, press the spacebar. If you don't know how to control the game's plot, use the help section built into many of the games.
Step 6
Some Flash game sites allow you to download programs to your hard drive. To do this, click on the link under the applet called Download or similar. It is not the SWF file that is downloaded, but the EXE file. Be sure to check it with an antivirus. Then it can be run: on Windows directly, and on Linux using the Wine emulator.
