Imagine that you received many important emails at work, downloaded them from a mail site into your program, deleted them from the server, and accidentally deleted them permanently. The situation is unpleasant, but it's too early to despair - if you use Microsoft Outlook, you can still return the letters, and now you will learn how to do it.
Instructions
Step 1
Browse the Outlook directories for the file that contains all the databases, stored in pst format. Copy it and save it in a separate folder - a backup is necessary before you start restoring emails.
Step 2
Then download Free Hex Editor XVI32 from the Internet - a program that will allow you to edit a pst file with a database. Start Hex Editor and open the required pst file in it.
Step 3
You will see rows of cells with numbers and letters.
Count the seventh cell in the top row (in the lower left corner of the program you can check if you are on the correct cell - the number is marked there) and zero the values of the cells from 7 to 13. To do this, find the icons corresponding to these cells in the right table, click on them with the left click and press the space bar.
After zeroing the right cells, the number 20 will appear in the corresponding left cells.
Step 4
Apply your changes and save the modified file.
Step 5
Now you need to find the SCANPST. EXE utility in the Program Files directories, which is provided during the installation with Outlook. Run the utility - the Inbox Repair Tool window will open. Click Browse and browse to the saved modified pst file.
Step 6
Click Start to start the recovery process.
Then you will see a window that warns that the file was scanned and errors were found in it. Click Repair to repair the database. Click OK and open Outlook again - you will see the deleted emails appear in the inbox again.
