Companies providing services in the field of Internet and IP telephony are trying to do everything in their power to increase the number of sites hosted by them. However, in order to create a new website or transfer existing data from one hosting to another, users need to solve a number of technical problems, one of which is the correct file transfer.

Step 1
Please note that there are several ways to transfer files. The first one is working via FTP connection. Moreover, the transfer can be carried out both with the help of special ftp clients, and simply through the admin panel of the copied site.
Step 2
Use the information received from the provider when creating the site to create an FTP connection. You can also create a new connection directly from the site admin panel.
Step 3
For greater reliability and automation of the process, download and install an ftp client, for example FAR (https://www.farmanager.com/), or Total Commander (https://www.ghisler.com/), etc.
Step 4
Copy all the necessary site files located in a directory called "www" or "public_domain" to your computer.
Step 5
Make sure the copying process was successful and the checksum of the files matches. Go through the control panel to the new hosting, find the Sites panel and create a directory. Thus, the space for the files of the new site is organized on the network.
Step 6
Use a temporary domain and create a link between it and the created site. Connect via FTP to the created folder in the temporary domain, find the automatically appearing “public_domain” folder, transfer all files of the old site from the local computer to the server of the new provider. After finishing copying, check the identity of the data sum.
Step 7
To transfer and copy files over SSH connections, download and install any ssh client. It can be PuTTY (https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/), Bitvise Tunneiler (https://www.bitvise.com), etc. Further actions of the user largely depend on the data placement rules adopted by specific provider. In general, transferring files via SSH is somewhat more secure than simply via FTP, but it requires more experience and knowledge in the IT field.
