Due to the fact that a QR code consists not of stripes, but of dots, it is able to contain much more information than a traditional barcode. You can read such a code from, say, an advertisement and decrypt it with a mobile phone with a special program. But it's much more interesting to create it yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Correctly formulate the text you want to put in the code. It should be short enough - no more than 150 characters. Despite the fact that the generation of QR codes from larger texts is technically feasible, the result of such a conversion can be cumbersome, unsuitable for reading by cameras of mobile phones. The use of the Cyrillic alphabet as part of the code is possible, but undesirable. This is due to the fact that not all mobile phone reader programs are capable of displaying it.
Step 2
The simplest task of converting textual information into a QR code is solved by using websites specially designed for this. The advantage of this method is that you can use any operating system, but the disadvantage of it is that you need to have an Internet connection. To generate code this way, go to one of the following sites:
www.qrcc.ru/generator.php The use of any of these sites is self-explanatory
Step 3
If the computer with which you want to create the code is not connected to the Internet and is running a Windows operating system, you will need to install the XRen QRCode program on it. You can download it at:
Step 4
Offline generation of QR codes is also possible in the Linux operating system. For this, a small console application called qrencode is used. The procedure for downloading, installing and using it can be found on the following pages:
Step 5
You can read the code by a mobile phone from a paper printout or from an LCD screen, and with a special scanner - only from a paper printout. A CRT monitor is unsuitable for these purposes, since the image received from the phone camera will have stripes that interfere with decryption. If there is no program for reading codes on the phone yet, you can download it at the following address:
