You don't need to be a polyglot to be able to use information from web pages published in different languages. Machine translation software - both offline and online - quickly translates text of any size. This translation is not always of high quality, but it is still possible to understand the content of web pages with the help of translation robots.

It is necessary

  • - a computer with Windows OS installed;
  • - Internet connection;

Instructions

Step 1

When displaying search results, Google, Yandex and Bing search engines offer translation of a web page in the form of a "Translate this page" or "Translation" link next to the search results. By clicking on this link, you will not download the original page, but its translation. However, this is only possible if you are using one of the browsers that support translation, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Opera.

Step 2

If for some reason you are not satisfied with Internet Explorer, download and install Google Chrome. It has page translation set by default, so you don't need to take any additional steps to be able to read the translated pages. If the line “Translate this page” does not appear in the search results, click on the key sign in the browser window, select the “Options” option, in the window that opens, click on the “Advanced” option and put a check mark in front of the line “Offer page translation if I don’t I speak the language in which they are written."

Step 3

If you use the Opera browser, you need to install Google, Yandex or Bing as a search engine. To do this, open your browser, click on the triangular drop-down icon in the search bar and select one of the search engines listed. If all of them or some of them are not in the list, select the "Customize search" option, click on the "Add" button in the window that opens and enter the name of the search engine you want to add to the browser in the form that appears. After that, click on OK to start the procedure for adding the selected search engine.

Step 4

Sometimes you only need to translate a small piece of text on a web page. In this case, you can use Google's Translate Client, which translates only the text that the user selects.

Step 5

Download the Desktop Client for Google Translate from https://translateclient.com/ru/download.php, also known as Translate Client. Install it on your computer. After installing and launching the program, an icon in the form of a blue or orange square will appear on the taskbar. Right click on it, select the "Language" option and set the target languages. Then double-click on it with the left mouse button and at the bottom of the window that opens, select Microsoft translator.

Step 6

To get a translation of any piece of text (not only in the browser, but also in any editor or program), select it with the mouse. Once selected, a blue icon appears next to the text. Click on it. A pop-up window will display the translation of the selected text.

Step 7

The translation of the text can be sent to the clipboard by clicking on the "Copy" option at the bottom of the window, or to replace the selected text with it (if it is not on the web page, but in the editor) by clicking on the "Replace" option. If, after selecting the text, the icon next to it does not appear, to translate, click on the icon that is in the taskbar.
