Step 1
Determine which applications are using your internet connection in the background. Typically, these programs are online radios and streaming video programs, download managers, torrent clients, and many others. To increase the bandwidth of the channel, close these applications or work with the settings of these programs. For example, in the download manager and torrent client, set a limit on the download speed (a speed equal to 20% of the speed of the general channel will be sufficient). Select a lower bitrate of the stream being played in the radio and streaming video player. These actions will help to significantly reduce the load on the Internet channel, after which its bandwidth will increase.
Step 2
Go to your browser settings and change some of them. For example, if you pay more attention to text when surfing the web, then disable the loading of images. This will help to significantly improve your browsing experience. Likewise, turn off video, sound and other multimedia elements on the pages. At the same time, the speed of their opening will increase significantly. In addition, use content compression tools such as Opera Turbo. Please note, however, that with content compression tools enabled, some elements of web pages will not work in the browser (for example, online document editors).
Step 3
Install an optimizer program (for example, Ashampoo WinOptimiser) on your computer and use it to optimize your internet connection. Typically, these kinds of programs disable unnecessary Windows services that use it. In addition, with the help of optimizers, you can forcibly block the startup of certain programs that connect to the Internet.
