Instructions
Step 1
Search the web for a beautiful template that suits your theme and mood, and then create a closed blog for experiments so as not to confuse the audience of your existing blog if the new template fails - for example, distorts the page structure. If the template suits you on an experimental blog, feel free to upload it to your main page.
Step 2
To download the template, open the blog management section and visit the Design page. Click on the "Edit HTML" option. Just in case, save a backup copy of the current blog design - to do this, click on the "Load entire template" button.

If you don't like the changes, you can simply upload the previous template to the site and return the blog design to the old version. In the "Reserve / restore template" section, to download a new template, click on the "Browse" button and select a new design file on your computer, then click on the "Download" button.

When installing a new template, all the widgets of the previous template will be lost - the system will warn you about this, and you will have to press the "Confirm and save" button when you see a request to delete widgets and their settings. Once the template is installed, open your blog home page and check if it reads correctly with the new design.

In some cases, when you don't want to lose your old widgets when loading a new design, upload the new template to the experimental blog, open the Design control panel, and go to the Page Elements tab. Turn on visual editing and add widgets that are not in the template to its content.

Save this template with the modified content and then upload it to your main blog. In order for the widgets to display correctly, make sure that their identifiers in the new and old templates match.
