However, the situation becomes less pleasant if you yourself are added to this list. Therefore, if you want to know if your friend is really “Offline” or if he included you in the ignore list, use the functions of the status checker program. Before checking the real user status, open the ICQ client you are using, go to the section with information about your friend and copy his number to the clipboard. To do this, select the ICQ user number and press the combination of the Ctrl key and the letter C. Note that when checking a user, he must be offline.

Go to a specialized website on the Internet with the address kanicq.ru. This page is completely legal and only provides a number of opportunities to check the status of users of ICQ or QIP programs.

Choose one of the sections depending on which client you are using and how important the anonymity of the check is.

If you are using Miranda IM or Trillian clients, as well as old ICQ versions up to 5.1, click on the For some clients link. On the right side of the page, you will see the text, under which there is an empty window for the ICQ number. Place the cursor in this window and press the combination of the Ctrl key and the letter V. Press the "Check" key and after a few seconds in the lower field you will see the real status of the entered ICQ number. Accordingly, if your friend has set the status "Invisible", you will find out about it.

For QIP client, ICQ6 software and its newer versions use the other two sections "For all clients" and "Advanced". They differ in the degree of complexity and function of anonymity, but the basis for checking the status is the same ICQ number and the "Check" button.
