A home or start page is a web page that is automatically loaded when the browser is launched. The user can always change the address of the start page or delete it altogether.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the browser in the usual way. If you are using Internet Explorer, select Tools from the top menu bar. In the drop-down menu, click on the "Internet Options" item.
Step 2
A new dialog box will open, go to the General tab. In the group "Home page" there is a field intended for the address of the site from which the work on the Internet will begin. To change the home page, enter the URL of the site with which you want to replace the existing one.
Step 3
To open a blank page when starting the browser (no website is loaded), click on the "Blank" button located under the address field. The value in the field will change. You can also enter the value about: blank yourself. Click on the "Apply" button and close the window. To check, restart your browser - depending on your choice, a reassigned or blank page should load.
Step 4
If you are using the Mozilla Firefox browser, start it and select the "Tools" item in the top menu bar, click on the "Options" item in the context menu. A new window will open. Go to the "General" tab in it and change the entries in the "Launch" group.
Step 5
In order to open a blank page or a page with visual bookmarks at startup (if you installed Yandex. Bar), enter the about: blank entry in the field provided for this yourself.
Step 6
To make the start page the one that is open for you at the time of changing the settings, click on the "Use current pages" button. To select one of the bookmarked addresses as your home page, click the "Use Bookmark" button and select the desired site from the list that opens in a new window.
Step 7
If none of the options suits you, copy the address of the Internet page you need and paste it into the line "Home page". After making all the changes, click on the OK button. When you start the browser again, the new settings will be applied. You can also click the house-shaped button on the toolbar to test.
