The world famous search engine Google recently offered its users a new way to search for the information they need - personalized, the results of which will be formed separately for each specific user. It is believed that this innovation will filter out uninteresting or ad-crowded sites.

A personalized approach to the search process (Google Search Plus Your World) is that the search engine will select information for the user, taking into account the results of his clicks, the time he viewed the site, the history of his previous requests, and the like. A lot of information will be taken from social networks belonging to Google, in which the user is registered, which will allow him to receive information on the entered request from his own page or from the pages of his friends.

For example, if earlier when the query "work" was entered, sites with search for vacancies were displayed, now the results may contain information about the work of friends, published on a social network, their own posts, or those sites that the user has repeatedly visited before. Thus, with the help of a search engine, a person will be able to find information concerning himself.

It is noteworthy that the sites from which information for the user will be taken either belong to Google (social network Google+, Gmail, Picasa catalogs, YouTube), or are marked by users in their profile. It is not surprising that such an innovation caused a negative reaction from many representatives of the IT community. The management of the social network Facebook and Twitter company reacted especially sharply to the personalized search. In their opinion, this approach will lead to a difficult search for important information from their resources, from which everyone will lose.

Currently, a personalized approach to the search process is under testing and is only available to a million casual users of the English-language version of Google. The new feature works in conjunction with the standard approach to information retrieval, so you can switch between them. Once the testing process is over, the personalized search will be available to all Google users.
