Leaving children at home alone for a long time, one can reasonably fear that they will use the Internet clearly for purposes that contribute to their development and education. Use a number of simple options to temporarily block network access.
Instructions
Step 1
If you leave your child alone for a long time - for a week or more, and none of the adults is guaranteed to use the Internet, you can block the service of your account with the provider. To do this, you will need to appear in person at the office with a passport and write a statement about the temporary blocking of the account. Keep in mind that on the dates that you specify, it will be impossible to go online, so use this method only as a last resort.
Step 2
Create separate accounts for yourself and your child. The child's account should have minimal rights - he should not be able to remove, change or install programs, as well as create new connections to the network and change the current computer settings. Then remove the current configured connection from the child's account. Create a new connection valid only for the administrator account. If you are using a router, disable automatic connection, set a password, and disable automatic saving. When using a modem, the connection settings should be stored on the computer and only under your account, and not on the modem.
Step 3
Due to the vulnerability of the administrator account, it is also recommended to install a network connection control application - for example, Kaspersky PURE. Set a password that protects the program from deleting or changing the settings, and then create a condition for restricting network access in the application settings. With this software, you can not only set the time when access is closed, but also the days of the week. Remember that the password should be as complex as possible.
Step 4
If none of the above methods helped, and you found the child on the network or found traces of his presence on the Internet, then the only way is to isolate the equipment with which you can access the network, to a place inaccessible to him.
