The ability to use any of the popular search engines is implemented in most web browsers. You can either select services for search or disable those that are not used for various reasons.
Instructions
Step 1
To disable one or more search engines in the Google Chrome browser, go to the program settings page by clicking the button with a wrench on the panel and selecting the Options command from the context menu. In the "General" menu, click the "Manage search engines" button and, highlighting the unnecessary search engine, remove it from the list. Close the tab, you do not need to confirm the changes made.
Step 2
To disable the search engine in Mozilla Firefox and Opera browsers, hover over the search field, which is located on the panel in the upper right corner of the program window. Click on the icon for the default service. In the context menu, select the command "Manage search engines" or "Customize search" (for Opera).
Step 3
In the new dialog box, highlight the search engine you want to disable. In this case, the "Delete" button will become active. Click on it to delete the selected search engine. If you later need to return the deleted service, you can always do this by clicking the "Restore default set" button. Apply the changes by clicking the "OK" button.
Step 4
Disabling the system for searching information in the Internet Explorer browser is performed according to an algorithm similar to the procedure used in Mozilla and Opera programs. The only difference is that to call the search engine settings dialog box, click on the icon with an arrow located on the search bar in the upper right corner of the browser window.
Step 5
In Safari, go to the File menu and choose Preferences. To disable the search engine in the "General" section, set another search engine as the default. For example, if you need to turn off Google, just select Yandex, Yahoo or any other instead.
