Typically, proxy servers are created to access individual resources using an apparent IP address. Not everyone knows that the functions of a prox server can be performed by an ordinary stationary computer and even a laptop.

Step 1
If you need to connect several home computers to the Internet, then there are two options for solving this problem. You can conclude several contracts with a provider or create your own local network. Practice shows that the second method requires less financial costs. Purchase a network hub (switch) and a network card. If you plan to use a mobile computer as a proxy server, you will need a USB-LAN adapter.
Step 2
Select a PC that will act as a proxy server. Connect a purchased network card (adapter) to it. Now use a twisted pair to connect a network hub to this card. Connect this device with other computers and laptops in the same way.
Step 3
Turn on all the above devices. Please note that the hub must be connected to the mains. Open the list of active network connections on the computer that you want to configure as a proxy server. Right-click on the hub connection icon. Select Properties and go to the TCP / IP Settings menu.
Step 4
Activate the item "Use the following IP address" and enter its value. It is better to use IP 192.168.0.1 if it will not conflict with other devices. The rest of the fields in this menu can be left blank. Go to internet connection properties. Open the "Access" tab and find the item responsible for allowing other users to use this connection. Check the box next to this item and save your changes.
Step 5
Open TCP / IP settings on other PCs. Fill in the fields "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server", registering in them the IP address of the proxy server (the first computer). Set static IP addresses for all of your computers. Your proxy server network is ready.
