One of the very useful options of the VKontakte social network is the creation of communities. Using the control panel, you can customize the page for your specific goals to get the most out of its creation.
Types of communities
The social network VKontakte, in addition to the user's personal page, allows you to create various types of communities. They differ in the degree of accessibility, information posted and the goals pursued.
The community type "group" can be open for everyone to join it, closed, to become a member of which you can only by sending an application or receiving an invitation, and private (joining by invitation). Groups are created for the purpose of discussing current topics, conducting discussions and exchanging views on issues that meet the interests of the participants.
Public pages are used to spread news and provide information in a specific niche. They vary in type and officially represent websites, companies, famous people, products or works.
The third type of communities is designed to notify subscribers about upcoming events: concerts, seminars, parties, etc.
Community building
To create a community, you need to select "My groups" on your VKontakte page, in the left side column of the main menu. This will display a list of the communities you are a member of (if any) with the name, type of group or page, and the number of members. In the upper right corner of the page, click the Create Community button. In the window that opens, you need to write the name of the community and mark its type: group, public page, event. After clicking on the "Create community" button, the management page will open, where you can configure various functions for displaying information and interacting with members.
General settings
For groups, you can configure the following parameters: community name, page address, description, subject matter, website address, location, type of posts on the wall, access to posting photos, videos and audio recordings, documents. The ability to create topics for discussion and publication of materials is also configured, and the type of group (open, closed or private) is indicated.
For a community of the "Public page" type, you must specify the type in the settings. It can be a place or a small company, an organization or website, a famous person or collective, a work or product. After that, in a special box, check the box that you are an official representative, accept the terms of use of the site and click "Create page".
For an event, in addition to general settings with groups, you need to specify the start and end time, as well as the organizer.
