Facebook opens up all new opportunities for its users, one of which is the mention of a person, group, event or application in messages posted on the wall. The function is useful in the case when you want to apply personally or link in a message to any specific page.
It is necessary
- - access to the Internet;
- - log into Facebook.
Instructions
Step 1
Log in to the Facebook homepage using your email address and password.
Step 2
To post a status, click on the corresponding icon at the top of the page. It is located just below the search bar.
Step 3
To mark a friend at the very beginning of the message, in the opened line "What are you thinking about?" enter the @ symbol and start writing its name. In the pop-up menu, select the one you need. If the name is grayed out, then you have succeeded. Type the message you would like to publish and click on the corresponding blue button.
Step 4
If you want to place a link in the middle or at the end of a sentence, enter the @ symbol in front of the mentioned name and choose its name from the pop-up menu. Don't forget to click on the Publish button.
Step 5
You can mention a group, application or event in the status in the same way.
Step 6
To tag a person on a friend's wall, go to the recipient's page. In the search box, start typing his name and click on it in the search results. Find the button "Record" and the line "Write something" on the friend's page. Repeat steps 3 and 4.
Step 7
Sometimes it also happens that you just need to insert the @ symbol in the message, and Facebook automatically opens a pop-up menu. Just keep entering your comment and it will close.
