It is not worth rushing with this, after all, everyone has the right sometimes not to communicate even with the closest ones. But to confirm your suspicions - there is a person in the agent or is actually disabled, you can try.

Step 1
In earlier versions of the agent, if the user is invisible, but on the network, he will receive sent messages immediately, as if he were in the “Online” status. If the recipient was disconnected, the sender's agent received information that the user would read the message when he went online. Now you should not rely on this alone. There are other ways as well.
Step 2
If the suspect has set the "Invisible" status especially for you, you can register a new address that is not in your invisible contact list and select the "Add contact" option. After entering the details of the one who, in your opinion, is hiding, click "Search". If the user is actually offline, the program will find him, but the icon next to his name will be red instead of green.
Step 3
For more advanced and persistent "verifiers" there are special programs that allow you to see invisible in the agent - for example, ArxAgentStatus. Finding such a program on the Internet will not be difficult, although you will have to try a little to understand it.
Step 4
If invisibility is a common condition for your "suspect", but you are sure that this simply cannot be, conduct a small test for attention. In the settings of your agent, be sure to specify: notify about contacts going online, about changing user status, about new messages, about messages in conferences, about micro-records, about appearing next to me. Usually, even if a person is invisible in the agent, when you enable or change the status for other users, you will appear for a few seconds in a window that the user is disabled.
Step 5
Carefully review the messages that come to your mail every day about what new friends had. If a person was invisible all day, he could not comment on the obscene anecdote of some of your mutual friend in the morning, and in the evening put himself in the status of a saying like: "Home soon!"

Open the contact window often. For example, Vasily Pupkin (07.22.2011 15:10) changed his location to: Moscow. View on the map. This means that at this time the person definitely went to the agent.
