The Minecraft game world strives for realism, and many objects in it are similar to those found in everyday life. Moreover, one of the most frequently found substances there can be called water. It is presented, as in non-computer reality, in the form of reservoirs of various sizes - and is very often used by players.

Significance of water in Minecraft

Water in many aspects of the game serves as an assistant for gamers. With its help, they arrange various traps, painlessly descend from great heights (when it is necessary to do this), quickly clear large areas of various materials: mushrooms, vegetation, torches, wheat, snow, etc. True, at the same time, it is also capable of sweeping away some buildings from redstone and rails.

Water combined with lava is used to create cobblestone and obsidian. By the way, the last circumstance is often used by players when they need to cross lava lakes. They put water next to the lava - and it transforms into obsidian. And now you can cross it painlessly, and at the same time get a valuable resource for crafting and various buildings.

In addition, water is often used as protection from monsters. Many gamers know that if you pour it in the direction from which hostile mobs are approaching, you will be able to run away from them. Zombies cannot swim against its current, and spiders cannot jump out of it.

Simple ways to remove water

However, water is not always good. Often, it becomes an obstacle to the player's implementation of grandiose plans for the development of a site. Gamers are often faced with a seemingly difficult task - to remove huge volumes of this liquid somewhere. Of course, it is possible to scoop it out with buckets and take it to another place - but it will take a lot of time, and in relation to the sea or ocean it will not work at all.

However, there are several methods on how to get rid of it, and many of them are quite simple. One of these methods is useful if the WorldEdit plugin is installed on the resource where the gamer plays. He gives any player a whole arsenal of commands with which you can make serious changes to the environment.

For example, if you want to adjust the level of nearby water bodies, it will be enough to enter / fixwater on a special console. When there is a desire to completely get rid of the liquid - to a single drop - in a certain area, you should use the / drain command and specify the specific radius of action of this order through a space. By the way, at the same time the player will get rid of the lava in the same territory.

However, if you don't feel like messing around with installing plugins, you should use a slightly different method of getting rid of large volumes of water. It is necessary to fence this place with walls of blocks so that all the liquid remains surrounded by them, and then gradually replace it with sand or other similar material. When all the water drops to a drop, the aforementioned blocks can simply be destroyed.

Some get rid of not very large reservoirs, flooding them with lava. As a result, instead of them, a mass of blocks of cobblestone or obsidian is obtained (depending on how exactly the fiery volcanic streams will interact with water).

Water removal sponge

In newer versions of Minecraft, another way to get rid of water masses has appeared - by absorbing them with a sponge. That, as practice shows, is capable of absorbing up to fifty cubic meters of liquid. Then it gets wet and becomes non-functional, but you can fix the matter by drying it in an oven with charcoal.

Until recently, such a valuable block was mined only in the creative mode of the game or was distributed on various resources by administrators. They played sponges in various contests or sold in stores. Gamers went to many tricks just to get such a water suction device, since its validity is unlimited. You can only lose it by losing it in pvp or dropping it into lava.

However, now the sponge has appeared already in the survival mode. Now you can get it directly in the gameplay. When wet, it is sometimes generated in underwater fortresses, and also drops out after killing the ancient guardians - hostile mobs that live there, similar to fish. These creatures, which have a health pool of forty hearts, were added in Minecraft 1.8. Killing them is also very difficult because they send fatigue on the player for five minutes. However, the reward for success - the sponge - is quite valuable.
