In Minecraft, various materials are constantly required to create the necessary objects - a house and its furnishings, tools, armor, weapons, etc. And one of the most common resources used in crafting is almost more often than others - iron. Meanwhile, the ore from which it is mined is limited in chunks - only up to 75 blocks. You can, of course, go in search of abandoned mines or treasures, where ingots of this metal are also found, but there is an easier way to get it.
Farm for killing iron golems
Many experienced "minecrafters" probably know about the existence in the game of such a character as an iron golem. This mob of excellent health (as much as fifty hearts) and very tall (almost three blocks) is designed to protect the inhabitants of the NPC village from various dangers. In relation to the player himself, this creature is neutral (at least as long as the gamer does not harm the "peasants").
When killed, up to seven iron ingots fall out. Therefore, many experienced gamers have found the benefit of the presence of iron golems in the game, constantly receiving iron from them. For some, the extraction of such a resource reaches several thousand units per hour. To accomplish this, they usually build a special bioreactor - the so-called iron farm.
The special design of such a multi-tiered structure, where galleries of doors that do not carry any function are installed, plus the presence of a couple of villagers in a limited space, arouses a powerful reproductive instinct in the iron golems. Meanwhile, the limited space of the place where the "peasants" are present prevents the aforementioned mobs from appearing there. Therefore, they spawn outside, in a building specially arranged by the player, adjacent to the previous one, where a trap awaits them in the form of a stream of water carrying them directly into the lava, to certain death.
Such a structure is a fairly large-scale enterprise that requires a considerable amount of various materials. First of all, these are multi-colored woolen blocks, wooden doors, glass, water and lava (they are collected from sources in buckets), a sticky piston and a redstone. However, since there are many options for building an iron farm, the specific set of resources will depend on the chosen method of building it.
One of the options for the device of an iron farm
You can stop at such a design. To begin with, at a height of about eight blocks above the ground, a platform is erected of colored wool (for example, yellow) 20 by 20 blocks. Above it are built walls three cubes high (no longer possible - otherwise the golems will start spawning right there). Inside, in the corners, squares are made of two by two blocks, but not directly on the base, but slightly above it, as if in the air.
Water is poured near the walls of this structure (but so that the central square is not occupied by it). Then the red squares break, and in their place it is also necessary to pour liquid - so that it flows there as if from some invisible cubes. Further, the corners of the structure need to be raised a couple of blocks up - preferably with red wool. From these columns, a superstructure of the same height is made in all directions, but so that every six squares are marked with their own color - for example, blue and red. However, it is important that only groups of blue columns adjoin the corner posts.
The latter need to be broken and an appropriate number of wooden doors must be installed in their place (this will be an imitation of an NPC village). Torches are installed from the inside around the perimeter so that monsters do not spawn. Further, around the doors and the red blocks that are between them, along the inner surface and at the same level, it is necessary to build a "ring" of yellow wool. After that, the platform is completely completed from the same material (it will be slightly smaller than the lower one).
Above each of the doors, two woolen blocks are installed and a wall is built up along the perimeter of the upper rectangle. After that, the same actions are repeated with water and torches that were performed in relation to the lower room.
On one of the short sides of this, at the level of six wall blocks of red wool, a platform six by five of the same material is arranged outside. He also makes walls two blocks high, and then water is poured in the corners. Two villagers run there (it is better to do this by arranging for them a glass vertical corridor into which to pour liquids - they will rise along this water column). From above, everything is covered with glass blocks.
Golem spawn location and trap for killing them
Next, you need to climb seven dozen blocks up above the main structure and make there the same structure that is present below (with the exception of the site for villagers). However, in it, the central squares of the floor not occupied by water - they turn out to be two by two wide - must be broken out.
Through these holes you need to go down three blocks and make a glass tunnel there (the ceiling of which will be the floor of the upper woolen structure). To do this, first, a double path is drawn, forty-four blocks long, and along it there are walls of three cubes. Water is poured into this tunnel, and at regular intervals (about five to six blocks), wooden plates are placed close to the glass walls for waterproofing. At the edge of the corridor, they should cut off the flow of water.
In the aforementioned tunnel - about its fifteenth block at a height of three blocks (so that no damage is done to the player, but yes to the golem), a stream of lava is placed across it, framing it with rows of tablets (plus one above the lava). At the end of the corridor, a platform is built (from any wool) to dispense iron. A depression is made on it with small steps - it is completely filled with water. A stone pressure plate should be installed at the edge of this makeshift pit.
On the opposite side, in the wall of this structure, an opening is made into one block and a sticky piston is installed there - so that it enters this hole when moving. All that remains is to connect the piston to the pressure plate with a redstone dust track.
