Opera's drop-down list of address bar contains two hundred links to Internet resource pages that you have visited recently. The browser uses them as a reference for "contextual hints" - when you start typing a URL, it looks for similar URLs in this list and prompts you to make a choice. However, for privacy reasons, it is worth sometimes clearing the drop-down list of the address bar.

Instructions
Step 1
Expand the Opera menu. You need to get to the settings for deleting the browsing history stored by the browser. To do this, go to the "Settings" section and select the "Delete personal data" line in it. As a result of this action, a window will open with text warning that if you just click the "Delete" button, then all browser tabs will be closed and all active file downloads will be interrupted.
Step 2
Click the label next to "Detailed Settings" below the alert text. Doing so will expand an additional portion of this dialog box with a complete list of data types that the browser can delete. You should make sure that this list is ticked next to the item "Clear browsing history". The mechanism for forming the drop-down list of the address bar is such that when any link disappears from it, another URL from the history of visits replenishes the list. Therefore, to destroy this list, you should erase all history stored by the browser.
Step 3
Press the "Delete" button to start the cleaning procedure, after making sure that there is nothing in the list of marked data that you would like to keep (for example, passwords).
Step 4
Open the browser menu if you want to use an alternative way to clear your browsing history. Go to the "Settings" section and select the top line ("General settings") to open a window for accessing changing browser settings. You can also open it by pressing CTRL + F12. On the "Advanced" tab, select the "History" line in the list of sections. Under the caption "Remember visited addresses for history and autocomplete" there is a "Clear" button, which you should click to clear the drop-down list in the address bar. Here you can limit or even prevent the browser from storing the URLs of visited pages by setting the desired number in the drop-down list next to the inscription "Remember addresses".
