Often you need just a static IP (for example, for network games, for accessing your computer from the outside, when the computer is the database storage, or when registering on the firewall of a corporate site, or if a site is located on the computer).

No-ip works like this: The program installed on the computer replaces the dynamic ip with a permanent address (for example, like this: servermymy.no-ip.biz).
