Exporting bookmarks allows you to transfer the list of favorites to another computer or restore bookmarks in the browser after reinstalling the operating system. By saving your bookmarks, you will later save yourself the hassle of searching for the pages you need.
Instructions
Step 1
In Internet Explorer, bookmarks are called Favorites. To export bookmarks from Internet Explorer, click the Favorites button and select Import and Export. The Import and Export Wizard will open, prompting you to select the desired action. Check "Export", then "Favorites", and then specify the folder on your computer or USB drive where you would like to save the file with bookmarks. Enter a name for the file and click the Export button.
Step 2
To export bookmarks in the Opera browser go to "Menu", then "Bookmarks", and select "Manage bookmarks". On the page that opens, click "File" and in the context menu open "Export Opera Bookmarks". Now select the folder where you want to save the file with bookmarks, enter the file name and click "Save".
Step 3
To export bookmarks from Mozilla Firefox, you need to open the Bookmarks menu and go to Manage Bookmarks. In the dialog box that opens, click Import and Checkout and select the Export to HTML menu item. Find the folder on your computer to save the bookmarks file, enter a file name and click the "Save" button.
Step 4
If you need to export your bookmarks to Google Chrome, click on the Bookmark Manager menu and select Organize. Select "Export Bookmarks", then the location on the disk where you want to save the exported file with bookmarks, enter its name and click "Save".
Step 5
To insert bookmarks into a browser on another computer or in a new operating system, follow the same steps, except instead of “Export” select “Import”.
