A userpic or a user's picture is an important part of designing a profile on any network resource. As a rule, these are small-sized images in jpg,.png
Necessary
- - Photoshop program;
- - image.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the New option from the File menu to create a new document in Photoshop. To do this, in the settings window that opens, select the RGB color mode from the Color Mode list. Selecting Pixels as the unit of measurement, enter the size of the future user picture in pixels in the Width and Height fields. This size can be found in the rules for using the Internet resource, for the design of the profile on which you make a picture.
Step 2
One of the easiest and most common ways to get a userpic is to cut a suitable fragment from a large picture. To do this, load a file with a suitable image into the graphics editor using the Open option from the File menu.
Step 3
You may need to sharpen the original image a little bit. To do this, switch it to Lab color mode using the Lab option from the Mode group of the Image menu. In the channels palette, click on the Lightness channel. If the required palette is not available in the graphical editor window, use the Channels option from the Window menu.
Step 4
Apply the Unsharp Mask filter to the image. Its window can be called with the Unsharp Mask option, which is in the Sharpen group of the Filter menu. Set the Amount parameter to 85%, the Radius parameter set within one to three pixels. Set Threshold to 4. To see how the edited image looks in color, click on the Lab channel.
Step 5
Select the Move Tool and drag the edited picture into the document window with the parameters of the future userpic. Most likely, the entire image in this window will not fit, but you will have the opportunity to select a fragment of the large image suitable for the user's picture, simply by moving the large image and observing the result.
Step 6
If you find that the fragment that you are going to make your userpic is larger than the size of the user's picture, resize the original image using the Free Transform option from the Edit menu. For more comfortable work with the transformation frame, stretch the document window with which you are working with the mouse so that the frame around the transformed image is visible in this window.
Step 7
Hold down the Shift key and reduce the size of the picture by dragging the corner of the frame. Use the Enter button to apply this transformation.
Step 8
To save the user's picture, use the Save for Web option from the File menu.
