Step 1
Using Skype, you can call the subscriber you are interested in both on a mobile phone and a landline directly from your computer. In this case, you pay only for the Internet traffic you use. If you have unlimited Internet, then communication via Skype will be generally free for you. You can simultaneously chat on Skype with several subscribers.
Step 2
Download from the official site and install the latest version of the Skype program, run it. The installation process is simple, just follow the prompts that appear on the screen. After installation, launch the program by clicking on its shortcut on the desktop.

Check if you have a webcam and headphones with microphone connected. After starting the program, you need to register and create a new user account. Fill in all the fields of the form, accept the license agreement, click the "Next" button. In the new window, enter your email address and click "Login".

The program is running, now you need to make settings. First, you need to set up your microphone and camera. Open "Tools" - "Settings", in the window that appears, find the section of sound parameters and specify the required devices. Save your changes. In the video settings, specify the webcam in the same way, test it. Save your changes.
Step 5
Now you can start chatting on Skype. If you need to call a cell phone or landline phone, find and open the "Dial number" tab. Select your country, enter your phone number (without country code), then press the green handset button and wait for a response. To end the conversation, press the red button.

If you want to chat with another Skype user, open "Contacts" - "Search for Skype subscribers". Enter the data you know in the search fields - name, nickname, email address and start the search. After the subscriber is found, click on his nickname with the right mouse button, select "Call" in the context menu and wait for an answer. You can add this nickname to the list of contacts - right-click on it and select "Add to contact list" from the context menu. Now you can call him or start exchanging messages in the chat.
