The domain activation procedure may differ slightly in details for different hosters, but the general algorithm of actions remains the same. The operation is performed using standard system tools and does not involve the use of additional software.

Instructions

Step 1

After the hosting platform is created in Telnet, open the "System" menu of the upper service panel of the application window for domain registration. Notice that there is currently an empty gray circle displayed in column X. Expand the "Domain Name" link in the "Domain Name" section and click the "Install" shortcut in the "Hosting (Hosting for domain not installed)" group.

Step 2

Specify the "Hosting type" item and select the "Physical hosting" option. This action will bring up the Site Hosting Options Settings dialog box. Specify the need for SSL support for HTTPS access on the "Settings" tab and determine the location for saving files accessible via SSL protocols. Select the location for saving files accessible via other protocols - in a single httpdocs directory or in a separate httpsdoc directory.

Step 3

Go to the Account Settings tab and type in your account name and password to access the website using FTP, SSH, and SFTP. Note that you need to select a shell to access the server console over SSH.

Step 4

Select the "Services" tab and apply the checkboxes in the lines of services required for the correct operation of the site. Use the Standard Redirect tab to define the URL of the redirect web page. Click the Frame Forwarding tab, specify the URL of the page from which to load the content into the frame, and save any changes you have made.

Step 5

Log in to the partner interface to change the domain status from Not Delegated to Delegated. Expand the Domains menu and expand the Edit link next to your domain name. Enter the two DNS servers that are responsible for domain information in the “DNS servers” line, or use the “Place primary and secondary DNS on registrar servers” option if there are no servers configured. Wait for the verification to complete and the domain status change.
