The user can download movies, music, programs, graphics, text and other files from the Internet. Using the capabilities of his browser or special applications for downloading, he can monitor the process and stop, resume or delete the download at any time.
Instructions
Step 1
To be able to control the download process in the Mozilla Firefox browser, configure the display of the downloads window. Launch the browser in the usual way and select the "Options" item in the "Tools" menu. Go to the "General" tab in the dialog box that opens and set the marker in the "Show downloads window when downloading file" field in the "Downloads" group. Click OK for the new settings to take effect.
Step 2
Now, every time you start downloading a file, a new dialog box will open, where the download progress will be displayed. There are several buttons in the line with the file name to the right of the indicator tape. To temporarily stop downloading the file, click on the "Pause" button in the form of two parallel lines. To completely stop and cancel the download, click on the button with the [x] icon.
Step 3
After the download process is canceled, the file will still remain in the list and you can return to it at any time. If you are distracted by the separately opening "Downloads" window, you can disable its automatic appearance and call it yourself when necessary. To do this, during the download process, click on the "Downloads" item in the "Tools" menu.
Step 4
Also, fast download management is available when the Download Statusbar browser add-on is installed. During the download, an indicator appears automatically in the add-ons panel to show the progress of the download. By clicking on it with the right mouse button, you can select the "Pause" command from the drop-down menu - this will pause the download. If you want to terminate it completely, click on "Cancel".
Step 5
In applications designed for downloading content, for example, in torrent clients or other download managers, use the control buttons - "Pause" and "Stop" in order to control the progress of the download. If you want to remove any file from the list, right-click on its name and select the “Delete” command from the context menu.
