If you need to have several documents and applications in front of your eyes at once, it is not at all necessary to take them apart on different edges of the screen, or even print them altogether. There may be a more elegant solution to this problem - a program with the self-explanatory name Glass2k.

Instructions

Step 1

Follow the link chime.tv/products/glass2k.shtml - this is the official site of the program developers. Download the program itself by clicking on the link Glass2k - Beta Version 0.9.2. The link is in the Download section. The downloaded file is not a distribution kit, but an independent application, so you can immediately save it in any place convenient for you.

Step 2

Run the program, after starting a welcome window will appear, and the program itself will appear in the tray. In principle, you can already start using the utility, but first it is better to adjust the settings for yourself.

Step 3

To open the program settings menu, find the program icon in the tray, right-click on it and select Settings in the menu that appears (translated into Russian - “setting”, “adjusting”, “setting up”).

Step 4

Find the item Auto-Load Glass2k every time Windows starts, it is at the very top. If you put a check next to it, the program will start every time you start Windows. A check mark next to Auto-Remember every window’s Transparency Settings will mean that the program will remember the transparency settings for each window to which these settings were applied. If you check the box next to 'Beep' on Glassification, the program will beep when you change the transparency settings.

Step 5

Pay attention to the item Transparency Popup. When the program is minimized to tray again, you can call another window with transparency settings for the window that is currently open. Accordingly, with the help of the Transparency Popup, you can customize the hotkeys by which this window will be called.

Step 6

In addition, the transparency of the window can be changed using hotkeys from 0 to 1 plus the key that you specify in the Keyboard Shortcuts setting (Alt, Ctrl, Alt + Ctrl, etc.). The intervals between 0 and 1 are the transparency levels, i.e. 0 is a completely opaque window, 9 is slightly transparent, 8 is even more transparent, and so on up to 1 - the maximum degree of transparency. Click Save to save the settings.

Step 7

To make your browser transparent, open it and use one of the methods described above. That is, call the window using the hotkeys that you specified in the Transparency Popup item, and in this window set the necessary settings or use the hotkeys you specified in the Keyboard Shortcuts item.
