The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a multi-platform open-world RPG that became a real discovery of 2011. The character of the world of Skyrim can live, develop and master professions. But such development often requires certain tools and raw materials. For example, coal.
What is coal
Coal in Skyrim belongs to a group of tools. Tools are a very broad category of various items that contain an assortment of items ranging from very useful to useless. The useful ones include, for example, lock picks, and the useless ones include a poker and a saw. Plot characters such as blacksmiths, jewelers, or general goods traders will buy them.
Coal is also a useful item. There are two types of it in the game: large and small. They vary in weight and value when sold. In addition, there are various options for their use, depending on the type of coal.
Small lump of coal
A small lump of coal weighs half a kilogram and is priced at 2 coins when sold. It can be purchased from blacksmiths and general goods merchants. In addition, in 26 locations, you can guaranteed to find 69 more copies. The largest quantities of coal are found in the Kolselmo Tower in Markarth, in the Frosty Lighthouse in Winterhold, and in Skuldafna - the Temple in Eastmarch.
Small Coal is one of three items that will come in handy at the Atronach Forge, a magical place that provides all the needs of mages. In it, according to certain recipes, items are created, as well as scrolls that are very useful during the game, with which you can summon one of the many Atronachs, for example, a fiery, ice or thunderous Atronach. A total of 31 summons are available in the game. And to create such scrolls of challenge, just a small lump of coal is needed.
In addition, it is needed to complete the "Difficult Answers" quest, but in this case it is easily accessible during the passage and execution of the specified task.
Large coal
This is the second type of coal in Skyrim. The large piece weighs 1 kilogram and is priced at 5 coins when sold. It can be found on individual plot characters, or found in the Temple of the Nightcalers. But there are significant differences between a large and a small lump of coal. For example, a Large Lump of Coal cannot be used in the Atronach Forge to create Summoning Scrolls. For the same reason, it does not belong to the category of tools and can only be bought from general merchants.
In addition to the above methods of use, which are the main ones, there are small and optional quests in which coal can be useful. For example, it will be needed when the character needs to draw a drawing on paper.
