If you want to change your nickname in QIP, do not forget to inform your permanent contacts about the change. Do not include in your account information about yourself, the possible leakage of which is undesirable for you.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch QIP. In the top menu of the program window, find the icon with the letter "i". On hovering with the cursor, a tooltip “show / hide my data” pops up. Open this section with the left mouse button.
Step 2
On the "general" tab there are two lines - "name" and "nickname", the data in which you can change. The next tab is called "info" and contains the lines "ICQ number", "IP address", "registration date", "start time" "e-mail". You can change your e-mail address, as well as agree or refuse to communicate your e-mail address to other users. To do this, you need to check / uncheck the box under the "e-mail" construction. On the "home" tab, you have the opportunity to fill in or clear lines with data about your postal address and phone number. The tab "work" allows you to enter information about the place of work and profession. The "personal" tab allows you to provide additional information about yourself as you wish.
Step 3
After making changes to any row on any tab, save the new data. In the lower right corner of the window, click "save". You can change the information as needed. You can delete unnecessary data and leave the line blank. When finished, close the window and return to the window with the list of contacts.
Step 4
In addition to these data, there is a window for an avatar in the section under the “i” sign on the left side. Clicking the left mouse button will open the overview. The allowed size of the picture is from 15x15px to 64x64px. After selecting a picture, click "save" under the picture.
Step 5
Next to the "i" icon there is an icon with an image of a wrench. Hovering the cursor pops up the name "setting". In this section, you can configure the permission or prohibition of adding you to the lists by other users, as well as select the mode for the appearance of a blinking notification of incoming messages. There is a section in the bottom menu that allows you to select or change the status picture, as well as a message to your section.
