Android is a multifunctional operating system for mobile devices. You can configure your platform-based machine to receive e-mails using the appropriate system menu functions or third-party utilities.
Instructions
Step 1
Unlock your device and launch the Mail app, which you can find on the home screen or through the Android menu. If you have not configured the built-in mail client before, you will see a list of mail servers. Depending on the version of the operating system, you may be prompted to immediately enter your email address and password for the specified account.
Step 2
Enter your e-mail address in the corresponding line on the system screen. In the line below, enter your password to access your account and click "Next". If necessary, check the box next to "Set as default account". If on the screen you were asked to choose one of the e-mail services, click on the appropriate section or click on the "Other (POP3 / IMAP) button."
Step 3
From the list of suggested options for the type of connection to connect to the server, select the POP3 or IMAP value, depending on the settings that your mail server uses. Next, you will see the connection parameters that were set for your account. If the made settings correspond to your mail service, click "Next" or change the data to more appropriate.
Step 4
Set a name for your account, which will become the name for the mailbox among the menu items of the device. After filling in the required menu items, click on the "Finish" button. If all settings were made correctly, messages will be downloaded from the mail server. To change some communication parameters and download letters, you can go to the "Settings" section in the mail window.
Step 5
You can also use third-party email clients to manage your emails. Go to the Play Market window by clicking on the corresponding shortcut. In the search box, enter the query "Mail". In the list of results, select the program that suits you best for working with e-mail.
Step 6
Click on the "Install" button, and then run the utility using the shortcut on the desktop or in the main menu. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your mail account and download messages. Setting up mail for Android is now complete.
