Instructions

Step 1

Download the current (at the time of this writing) version of the engine - Joomla 1.5.23. There is already version 1.6, but it is "raw", and there are still few additions for it.

Step 2

Upload the engine files to the server: go to the hosting administration panel, go to file-manager. Go to the root folder (usually / www), download all the engine files into it: click on the "Upload new file" button, then on the right side of the screen, click on the browse button, find the archive with Joomla, click OK. When the files are uploaded, click on the green checkmark. Second way: go to the root folder of the server via FTP-manager (FileZila, SmartFTP) by entering the data provided by the hosting. Fill in the previously unpacked engine files into this folder.

Step 3

For the root folder, set the rights to CHMOD 777.

Step 4

Go to phpmyAdmin and create a new database.

Step 5

Enter your website address in the browser bar. The installation will begin.

Step 6

Select the installation language, click "Next". If you have disabled cookies, then enable them during installation.

Step 7

In the next step, make sure the server matches the engine's requirements. Click Next. Read the license agreement, put a tick next to the item "I agree …..", click "Next".

Step 8

Enter the details of the database you created earlier (include name, name, password and username). Or enter the data provided by the hoster, sometimes the database is already created by default.

Step 9

Next, enter the name of the site (you can change it later), email and password for entering the administration panel. Installation completed. But before entering the site, delete the install folder on the server, otherwise you will not be logged in.

Step 10

Go to the admin panel (www.your_site / administrator) by entering the login (admin) and the password specified during installation. Enter the menu "Site-> Users". Click on the Administrator field, in the login field, enter what you need, since the default admin login is not secure.
