The network adapter is a card installed on your computer. With its help, you can access the Internet via wireless technologies or through a cable connection. Adapter problems may be caused by improper driver installation, system settings, or device operation.

Step 1
Install the latest driver for your network adapter. To do this, go to the official website of the board manufacturer and download the necessary files from the corresponding section "Support" of the resource.

Before downloading, you will need to know the model of your device in order to select it in the site interface. To do this, right-click on the "Start" - "Computer" section of the menu. In the left part of the window that appears, select the "Device Manager" section. In the line "Network adapters" click on the drop-down list and look at the specified value.

Download the selected driver package. After the download is complete, before starting the installation, you will need to uninstall the old software for the device. To do this, in the "Device Manager" right-click on your adapter and select "Properties". Then click on the "Driver" tab and then click on the "Uninstall" button.

Run the provided driver file and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the hardware installation. After that, you will need to restart your computer to apply the settings.

If the problem persists after reinstalling the driver, use the system troubleshooter. To do this, open the "Start" menu and in the search bar for programs enter the query "Troubleshoot", and then select the result. Click the "Network and Internet" - "Network adapter" section. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the restore operation.

Check the cable connection to the system unit or the operation of the router. If your computer has multiple network adapters, you can also try connecting using a different device. To do this, plug the Internet cable into another Ethernet port on your computer.

If none of the above methods helped, contact a specialized service center to fix or replace the network adapter.
