Currently, there are two main ways to receive e-mail: through the web interface and through the client program. Recently, another method has been increasingly used - a mixed one. Its essence is to receive letters from the server, but to the client program.

Instructions
Step 1
Some users uncheck the option "Keep a copy of messages on the server" when configuring a mixed type of receiving e-mail. After new letters arrive on the server, your letters are automatically redirected to your email address. As soon as they reach your local folder, their copies will be deleted from the server, which prevents them from being restored.
Step 2
But despite disabling this option, it is still possible to save lost mail. First of all, you need to check the name of the protocol through which your client receives mails. There are two protocols to choose from: IMAP and POP3. The latter protocol is the most commonly used and is usually the default choice of many clients.
Step 3
This protocol has pros (much easier to configure) and cons (does not sync local directories). Only IMAP can provide much more functionality. You can select it when editing or changing the type of your email account.
Step 4
Delete your email account from the client (all correspondence will remain on the computer). Click the top menu "Tools" and select "Accounts". In the window that opens, select the desired mailbox, then click on the "Delete" button and in the appeared confirmation window, press the Enter key.
Step 5
Now you need to create a new account with the same email address. Change POP3 protocol to IMAP. Mail folders and their copies will appear in the mail client window. In local folders, you must cut all files and paste them into similar IMAP folders (top Tools menu, IMAP Folders item). The only thing left to do is to synchronize with the server to receive lost emails.
