The Witcher 3: how to complete the unraveling quest?

You can take this quest in the vicinity of Novigrad or in the city itself. Geralt takes on an order for a monster that kills people in the Scraps at night.

The beginning of the passage

The first step is to go to a man named Lund. He controls the area and may know the details of the murders. Geralt cannot get into the house, since the guard at the gate does not let him in, but he talks about a new murder that happened in the hut. In addition, the guard says that someone has already taken the order. The witcher goes there in search of evidence.

Having found the hut, Geralt sees the remains in it, in which there is not a drop of blood. Traces of the monster are visible around. From the damage it inflicted and his behavior, the witcher decides that he has encountered an ekimma. It's time to go in search of the creature.

Meeting with a competitor

Geralt follows in the footsteps to a water mill near the village of Arett. Entering it, our witcher meets Ekimma and his old friend - Lambert. He is the one who took the order.

Having dealt with the monster, we ask Lambert what fate he was in Novigrad. The answer will be evasive, they say, there is one thing. Geralt decides to help a colleague.

The witchers return to Lund for their reward. Lambert starts asking him about a man named Bertram Tauler. These questions cause fear and anger in the manager, he calls the guards to deal with the witchers, and he himself begins to run away. Lambert goes after him, and Geralt stays behind to deal with the guards.

After finishing the battle, we find Lambert together with Lund. The second reveals the location of a certain Vienne, after which Lambert kills him. For all of Geralt's questions, the witcher colleague suggests answering in the Seven Cats tavern.

Conversation in the tavern

Having met with Lambert at the tavern, we listen to his story that a long time ago he had a friend Aiden. He was also a witcher, but he was killed by mercenaries from the detachment of Bertram Tauler. Now Lambert wants to take revenge on the murderers.

In the tavern, the witchers find Vienne. In order for her to tell about the rest of the gang members, you need to either pay her, or apply Axiy. We choose one of two, and she will tell us about Zelena, Hammond and Tauler.

Hammond settled in the Faeroes and was engaged in the slave trade, while Zelena opened a brothel in Tretogor. After receiving this information, Lambert is going to kill Vienne, you can stop him or let him do it. In any case, the witchers will have to fight her people.

As a result, the quest divides the witchers. Lambert goes to Tretogor for Zelina, and Geralt goes to the Faroe Islands to look for Hammond.

On the Faroes

On the Skellige Islands, we learn that Hammond and his gang have occupied the village of Trottheim. Geralt goes there and meets the guards at the gate. From a conversation with her, the White Wolf learns that Hammond is praying and now does not accept anyone. Further, there are two options for the development of events: we can say that we will come later, or be surprised at the piety of an inveterate criminal and join the battle with the guards. Regardless of Hammond's choice, the witcher will meet at the altar of Heimdall.

It will not work to talk to him, since he immediately calls the guards and begins to attack. Having killed all the bandits, we search Hammond's body and find a note from Tauler, which says that he does not intend to do business with Hammond and does not want him to write to him.

After that, you can leave the Faroe Islands.

Unraveling the ball to the end

We return to Novigrad and find Lambert in the stern "Nowhere". He reveals that Tauler now calls himself Roland Troyger. He lives in the elite quarter of the Golden City and is engaged in trade. Zelena, of course, is dead, since this time no one bothered Lambert (this will be said even if we let him kill Vienne). After talking, we go to the last member of the gang.

Having met Tauler, we see his cat's eyes and learn that he was also a witcher, but from the Cat's School. Now he has given up bloody craft and wants a quiet, calm life.

He invites us to his home and introduces us to his family. It turns out that he got married and adopted several orphans. He tells how Ayden died, saying that the witcher was partly to blame for his death.

Lambert does not believe that Tauler is really tied up with crime and wants to live a quiet family life. Wanting to finish what he started, Lambert is going to kill Tauler. We can stop him if we believed what we heard from Tauler, or we can go out, giving a friend the opportunity to do what he wants.

Whatever we choose, in the end Geralt agrees to meet with Lambert in Kaer Morhen. This completes the passage of the quest "Unraveling the ball".
