The need to cancel an application download from the App Store that has already begun can arise for various reasons - an accidental button press, a not very good Internet connection, or a slow download speed.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the Pause button to pause an active download of an app in the Mac App Store and go to the Purchased menu in the top toolbar of the app window to cancel the selected download.
Step 2
Press and hold the Options button until the Cancel option appears instead of the Pause command.
Step 3
Click the Cancel button and confirm your choice in the system request window that opens by clicking the Cancel Download button again.
Step 4
Press the "Settings" button on the main screen of the iPhone or iPad (the icon with the gear symbol) and turn on the airplane mode in the settings window that opens to cancel the active download on the mobile device.
Step 5
Wait ten minutes and reboot your device.
Step 6
Return to the Settings menu and go to the Wi-Fi section if you cannot cancel an active download.
Step 7
Drag the connection switch to the Off position and try to uninstall the downloadable application.
Step 8
Click the downloadable application icon to pause the download and connect the mobile device to the computer using the USB connection cable for the next attempt to cancel the active download.
Step 9
Wait for the mobile device to be detected and de-authorize in the iTunes app.
Step 10
Tap the icon of the downloadable application to activate the download and wait until the message appears stating that the operation cannot continue.
Step 11
Wait until the process of downloading the application on the mobile device is completed if all the above methods are ineffective and synchronize the iPhone or iPad with the computer.
Step 12
Delete the unneeded app in iTunes and repeat the sync process to permanently remove the selected app.
