Step 1
Try to regain control of the lost account on your own. If attackers have taken over your profile, a simple password change can help you get it back. Look for the "Password recovery" button on the website and follow the instructions. Often, when registering, along with the password, you are prompted to enter a secret question, as well as an answer to it. Remember it and enter it in the appropriate field. If during registration you specified an additional mailing address, you will be able to get a new password for it.
Step 2
Restore your account if you linked it to a cell phone. To do this, just select the appropriate item in the site menu and follow the instructions. A special code will be sent to your phone number, which you will need to enter to receive a new temporary password for the page. If attackers have taken possession of your SIM card or have access to it, contact your mobile operator to block the number and then restore the SIM card.
Step 3
Contact the resource's technical support for help. Describe the conditions under which you lost access to your account. Some sites offer to fill out a special form to speed up the procedure for restoring access. After a while, a reply with further instructions for recovery will be sent to the mailing address you specified.
Step 4
Set a new password as soon as access to your account is restored. It should be complex enough to avoid repeating the break-in situation in the future. Use uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and other symbols. The password must be at least 8-10 characters long.

Do not keep your password publicly available on your computer, and better not write it down on paper. It's best to keep your password in your head, but if you're still worried about forgetting it, keep it somewhere that other people can't reach.
