System Restore is a component of the Windows operating system. With it, you can restore the previous state of your computer without losing your personal files if you suddenly have any problems with your PC.
Instructions
Step 1
Enter the main menu "Start", then select the item called "Accessories", go to the submenu in "System Tools" and click on the item labeled "System Restore". If this option is disabled on your computer, then in the window that appears with the inscription "Do you want to enable System Restore?" confirm by clicking on the "Yes" button. A window will appear with the inscription "System Disconnect". Uncheck the box next to "Disable System Restore on all drives" in the tab titled "System Restore" and click on "Apply". Run System Restore again from the Start menu.
Step 2
Select the item titled "Create a restore point" in the dialog box that opens and click on the "Next" button. Enter a name (by which you yourself will recognize the checkpoint in the future) in the field that says "Description of the restore checkpoint." The current date and time will be automatically added to the rollback point. Click on "Create", then wait until the moment after which the system will create a rollback point. Click on the "Close" button. In order to be sure that the restore point was created correctly, open the same window, then select the item labeled "Restore an earlier state of the computer", click on "Next". On the left side of the calendar, the date of the checkpoint creation will be marked, and on the right side there will be its name and creation time. If you are not going to do a system restore right away, close the window.
Step 3
If, after creating a rollback point, you again want to disable System Restore, then on the left side of the window, click the link-line titled "System Recovery Options". The System Properties window will open automatically. On the desktop, click on the "My Computer" shortcut, then select "Properties." Return the marker to the box called "Disable System Restore on all disks", click on "Apply". This will remove the rollback points created on the computer and disable System Restore.
