Step 1
Select and purchase a router. The main parameter that must be taken into account when choosing this equipment is the presence of a specific port for connecting to an Internet channel. If you are using a leased line, then purchase a router with a WAN (Internet) port.
Step 2
To connect mobile computers and communicators to the local network, you must use a Wi-Fi router. Pay attention to the types of radio signals supported by this unit. Connect the selected Wi-Fi router to AC power. And turn on your network equipment.
Step 3
Connect the ISP cable to the WAN (Internet) channel. Connect the twisted pair cable to any LAN connector. Insert the other end into the network adapter of any computer. Turn on this PC. After loading the operating system, open an internet browser and enter the IP address of the router. Usually these are 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 addresses. Press the Enter key and wait until the web-based interface of the router opens.
Step 4
Open the WAN or Internet Setup menu. Configure your internet connection settings. Enter the information that is identical to the one you specify when setting up the computer to connect to the network. Save the settings for this menu. Reboot the router and make sure the device is connected to the ISP's server.
Step 5
Open the Wireless Setup or Wi-Fi menu. Configure the settings for the wireless access point. Select the type of security, specify the data transmission channel and set the password. Restart the device again after saving the settings. Connect your mobile computer to a wireless network and check for Internet access.
Step 6
Connect all computers to the LAN ports of the router. If there are too few of them, then use a network hub to connect multiple PCs with one LAN connector.
