Virtual Bookmarks is an add-on for browsers from the Mail.ru mail service, which modifies the browser interface and opens up quick access to the mailer's resources. You can disable them both using the browser settings and system services.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch your browser. Select "Settings" from the main menu and go to the "Add-ons" or "Extensions" tab. Find Mails Guard from the list of plugins provided, then disable or uninstall it. If you need to delete only part of the bookmarks, leaving the necessary ones, go to the plugin settings. Specify the number of bookmarks displayed on the page and disable Mail services that you do not need. You can also remove the Mail service icons from the browser toolbar. To do this, right-click on the desired icon and select "Remove from Toolbar".
Step 2
Remove the virtual bookmark service from the operating system. This must be done because even if the plug-in is disabled in the browser, the Mails Guard process will remain active, transferring user information to the Mails Guard service and taking the necessary system resources. Open the Start menu and go to Control Panel. Select "Add or remove applications" and find "Mail.ru virtual bookmarks" in the list. Click on the "Delete" button. Wait for the uninstall process to complete and reboot the system.
Step 3
Roll back the system to a specific point in time to remove installed virtual bookmarks in one step. The installation of this service is usually carried out simultaneously with the installation of one of the free Internet applications that are partners of the mail resource Mail.ru. From the Start menu, go to the Utilities folder and select System Restore. Specify as a restore point the time period before the installation of the questionable application, after which virtual bookmarks appeared in the browser. Wait until the rollback process completes and the system reboots, after which the problem of annoying service will cease to bother you.
