Some users face a problem when uploading photos to social networking sites and forums. At the same time, there may be several reasons for the impossibility of downloading images.
The main reason for the impossibility of uploading a photo to the server is the exceeded image resolution. Many forum management systems use standards that do not allow uploading avatars larger than 150x150 pixels. Social networks also do not recommend uploading large photos (20 megapixels or more), because this may cause an error when uploading an image. Reduce the image resolution in any graphics editor, for example, to 1920 pixels horizontally (FullHD quality) and try to upload the image again. The second reason for the error when uploading a photo is the file size exceeding the acceptable threshold. Many blogs, social networks, portals set a limit on the file size - for example, "no more than 2 MB" or "up to 10 MB". If the photo has a large physical volume, reduce the resolution and quality level, change the format to JPEG - this graphics extension compresses images and they become “lighter.” The third reason for the impossibility of uploading an image to sites is the wrong extension (format). Always convert the image format to JPEG (JPG) or PNG. These are the two most common formats that require little server space and load quickly without losing quality. Many forums and social networks do not welcome or do not download images in TIF, GIF, BMP, etc. formats at all. Therefore, before uploading a photo, check the image format and, if necessary, convert it using Paint or another application. The fourth reason for the refusal of photos to upload can be preventive work on the site or errors in writing data to the server. In this case, there is nothing to do but wait until the situation is corrected and try to upload a photo after a while or the next day. And, finally, the fifth reason for the impossibility of uploading a photo is the low outgoing speed of the Internet channel. Perhaps you are downloading or updating something, and therefore the browser simply does not have enough speed to transfer the image from the computer to the server. In this case, you need to stop all downloads or reduce the size of the photo.
