Recovering archives of correspondence in most instant messengers can be done in one scenario - by viewing user logs. However, mail.ru has a special convenient method for storing correspondence, which greatly simplifies this procedure.
Instructions
Step 1
Start viewing the history of mail agent messages using the context menu of the contact you need. Go to the "Messages archive" tab. If you delete all data from history, you can restore it using your mailbox. This function has only recently appeared in the list of resource services, so it may not be possible to restore the entire archive of correspondence from the very beginning. If necessary, update your version of the "Agent".
Step 2
Go to your mailbox with which you log into the "Agent". In the list of received emails, you will find those with the "Agent" mark in the subject line. Please note that some versions of the program have the function of sending messages to any mailbox. You can enable it in the program settings in the menu of incoming messages.
Step 3
Review the application logs on your computer. Many messaging clients store their history on the hard drive, and the mail agent is no exception. To view, enable the display mode on the computer of hidden files and folders. You can do this in the "Control Panel" by selecting "Folder Options" and "Show hidden files and folders." Open the program logs folder and read them using notepad.
Step 4
Remember to back up such data in a separate text file. This document is sometimes deleted after clearing the message history, but some versions leave it as is. These files are located in the Application Data folder in the user menu on the local drive of the operating system. After opening the folder, you may need to open Roaming and MRA as well, but it all depends on user settings and software version. It is imperative to configure the visibility of the folders, otherwise the directory and its contents will be unavailable for viewing.
