Removing previous versions of Windows operating system activators is necessary before installing a new version or in the event of a conflict between a certain update and system settings. In the latter case, most likely, the problems are caused by the KB971033 update, which in some cases could lead to the appearance of a "blue screen of death".
Instructions
Step 1
Press the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Run" item to perform the operation of removing old activators.
Step 2
Enter cmd in the Open field and click OK to confirm the command line tool launch.
Step 3
Enter the value simg -rilc in the command line field and press the Enter key to execute the command to open the activation history.
Step 4
Enter simg -upk in the command line field and press Enter to confirm deleting the old activation key.
Step 5
Return to the main "Start" menu and go to the "Settings" item to remove the activator that caused problems after installing the KB971033 update.

Expand the Control Panel link and select Folder Options.

Select the "View" item and uncheck the "Hide extensions for registered file types" box.

Check the box next to "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and click OK to apply the selected changes.

Go to the "Administration Panel" and select "Services".
