As the Internet spreads, more and more browsers appear that provide a convenient work with the world wide web. Browsers have many settings, with which the user can provide himself with the maximum comfort while working at the computer.

Step 1
In addition to its many advantages, the Internet has some disadvantages, the main one being the risk of infecting your computer with viruses and Trojans. Accidentally downloaded unwanted programs can significantly complicate computer work, and some even open your personal data to fraudsters. To prevent this, the first step is to install a good antivirus. You should also play it safe by blocking all unwanted pop-ups, because in addition to advertising, they can contain obscene information or even a virus.
Step 2
Pop-up settings are available in every browser. If you are using the Opera web browser, open the browser's main menu. Find the item "General settings" in it and click on it with the mouse. This can be done by the key combination Ctrl + F12. In the settings window, open the "General" tab. In the functions of this tab, there will be a question "Specify what to do with pop-up windows." By clicking on the line below, you can set your own settings: "Accept", "Accept in the background", "Block unsolicited", "Do not accept". To ensure the safety of your computer and just for the convenience of working with the browser, it is recommended to select the Block unsolicited or Do not accept items. Now the browser will automatically reject pop-ups, and nothing will distract you from your work. Save your changes by clicking OK.
Step 3
If you prefer the Mozilla Firefox browser, click on the "Menu" button located on the toolbar, i.e. on the top line of an open web browser window. In the "Menu" window, select the "Settings" column, and inside the "Settings" - the "Content" tab. You need to check the box next to the "Block unsolicited windows" line if you want to prevent them from opening. If you use sites that you trust and whose pop-ups you may need, click on the "Exceptions" button in the pop-up settings bar. Here you can enter the address of the site for which you allow pop-ups to open. Click "Apply" and OK to confirm your actions.
