In the window that appears, click the line "Start Internet Speed Test". Testing takes less than a minute, and when finished, you will see the test results.
Step 2
You should be aware that Internet speed is highly dependent on the time of day - it is worst when the communication lines are the most loaded and increases when most users are offline - for example, at night. Therefore, run this test several times at different times of the day, it will help you find out how the Internet speed changes during the day.

You can estimate the real speed of your Internet when downloading large files - for example, movie files, DVD images, etc. The download manager usually indicates the data transfer rate in kilobytes per second. Please note that providers indicate the Internet speed in kilobits.
Step 4
To find out the speed in kilobytes, divide the speed declared by the provider by 8. Let's say your connection speed is 1024 kilobytes per second. Divide it by eight, you get 128 kilobytes per second. This means that you should download a 10 megabyte file in about 78 seconds.
Step 5
Remember that the download speed is affected not only by the speed of your Internet, but also by the parameters of the server from which you download the file. If the server is heavily loaded, the speed will drop noticeably. In some cases, you can use a good proxy server to speed up the download. Thanks to the wide channel, it is able to download a file very quickly and after downloading it, transfer it to you. As a result, downloading a file through a proxy may be faster than without it.
