Internet connection speed is one of the main characteristics of a modern PC. It depends on it how quickly the pages will be loaded, new videos will be downloaded and games will be loaded.
Instructions
Step 1
The initial analysis should begin by reviewing the documentation provided by your provider. There should be indicated the maximum speed at which you can count on this tariff plan. However, due to some problems, this speed is often different, so you should not rely entirely on such information.
Step 2
To find out the speed of the Internet on your computer, take the speed test. You can easily find such testing in search engines. The most famous representatives in Runet are pr-cy, 2ip, speedtest and so on. As a rule, you just need to press the start button and wait two to three minutes. The resource will download and upload several files, and at the end will display your Internet connection speed.
Step 3
You can calculate the speed yourself if you don't trust the tests. To do this, you need to select some heavy file (preferably more than 100 MB), download it and time the time. Then divide the weight by the number of seconds to get the average speed. Do not forget to take into account that one byte contains 8 bits, so the result must be multiplied by 8. Let's say 200 MB was downloaded in 100 seconds. Therefore, the speed is 200/100 * 8 = 16 Mbps.
